Mbongo Chain
A Rust-native, compute-first Layer-1 blockchain focused on deterministic execution and open contribution.
What is Mbongo Chain
Mbongo Chain is a Rust-native Layer-1 blockchain built for verifiable compute. It combines Proof of Stake with Proof of Useful Work (PoUW) to enable decentralized GPU compute while maintaining economic security. The protocol prioritizes deterministic execution, open contribution, and correctness over speed.
Current Status
Phase 1 (Foundation) is complete. The core data structures, transactions, cryptography, accounts, and state storage are implemented and merged.
Phase 2 is active. Development focuses on tooling, testing, infrastructure, and AI/GPU compute. All contributions target the dev branch.
Why It Exists
- Compute — GPU capacity is scarce and centralized. Decentralized compute enables open access and verifiable execution.
- Openness — Anyone can contribute. The codebase, docs, and bounty ledger are public and append-only.
- Correctness — Deterministic execution and redundant verification ensure compute results are trustworthy.
